Magdalena A. Matlok (b. 2002, Katowice), they/she, based between Poland and the Netherlands, currently studying Transformation Design at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam.
My work is mainly manifested through research-based theory production and its artistic application. Using a cross-media approach,
I see writing, art and music as fluid practices for gathering knowledge, an open space for speculation about art itself, language, embodiement, technological advancements, ecological presences and [more-than]-human cognition.
I prioritize de-shaping normativities, bending and mixing meaning, crafting chimeric thought-objects by examining society's current fixations, and applying that to our understanding of existence, sharing space, being material and interacting with a digital world of subjects.
My aim is not only awareness, but expansion of thinking beyond what seems fixed and immovable.
