The Chimera is an investigation into the world of simulations and algorithms, a counter-embodiment design that drafts influence from facial/motion recognition systems, human anxieties about artificial intelligence, The Cyborg Manifesto and virtual surveillance. The Chimera embodies the tension between being observed and resisting categorization, occupying a liminal space where identity is in motion—a site of both control and resistance within layers of simulated realities. By blurring the boundaries between the body, its environment, as well as cyberspace, it prompts a reimagining of what it means to be human and asserting the right to define existence on one's own terms.
First concept was introduced in 2023 at Booijmans op Zuid, Rotterdam.
